A veteran police officer has revealed the secrets to minimise your chances of getting a ticket when you are stopped by the police for a potential traffic violation.
Jerry Kane, 53, a retired New York Police Department officer, told ABC News for 20/20:True Confessions that if you want to get out of a speeding ticket, the best thing you can do is put yourself in the officer's shoes.
That means remembering that as soon as you pull over the officer is just as worried as you are about how this stop is going to go.
'Cops get killed on car stops,' he said, adding that drivers should remember officers will be on high alert.
