Outgoing Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon is calling for a $30.9 million property tax increase, a 17.5 percent bump, to fund a $788 million county budget in 2013.
That would translate into a tax increase of $64 a year for the owner of a $238,000 home, the median price in the county. That additional expense, if approved by the Republican-led County Council, would appear on property tax bills coming out a year from now
