Dr. Laura has been a fixture on KNRS for over a decade.

On August 18th, while making an appearance on CNN's Larry King Live, Dr. Laura announced that she is leaving talk radio at the end of year.  (see the video below)

Dr. Laura's announcement took us by surprise.  On July 2nd, we had announced Sean Hannity was joining the KNRS line-up in October, and would be heard live from 1pm until 4pm.  At the same time, we announced Dr. Laura would be moving to Freedom 570, our sister-station.  We were going to air her show in her usual timeslot, weekdays 1pm-4pm, on Freedom 570.

But, after Dr. Laura announced her departure from talk radio, our plans immediately changed.  It simply did not make sense to move Dr. Laura to a new station, only to have her show come to an end in less than three months.  Additionally, after cancelling existing programming to make room for Dr. Laura, Freedom 570 would have been left without programming after Dr. Laura's show came to an end.

Bottom line:  Dr. Laura's decision to end her program has prevented us from continuing her show in Salt Lake City.  Her final program on KNRS aired on October 1st.

We thank Dr. Laura for ten great years on KNRS.  Her program was a trusted source of moral advice for thousands on Utahns.  She will be missed.
