Cedar City teen dies after auto-pedestrian crash

A 13-year old Cedar City boy who was struck by a car over the weekend has died as a result of the injuries sustained from the collision. Shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, a group of people consisting of both juveniles and adults were playing what they called "night games" in the dark. During the games the boy ended up running in front of a car and was struck. Despite receiving treatment for his injuries, he was announced dead on Sunday.

Police say that this is considered a tragic accident, and that the 59-year-old driver behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck the boy was not impaired at the time of the collision, nor do they believe he is at fault. Police have thus far not released the name of the boy.
