Rep. Bishop says 2018 will be last election

Utah congressional representative Rob Bishop has said that the coming election year will be his last run for the US House of Representatives. The Republican lawmaker pledged on Friday that he will be leaving his position after the next election. So far Bishop has served in the House for eight terms, and has spent the last six years as chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources.

He represents Utah's 1st congressional district, which covers the northern parts of the state, including cities such as Brigham City, Logan, and Ogden.
