Orrin Hatch to run for 8th term

Orrin Hatch has decided to run for an 8th term in the senate. The 83-year-old senator is up for reelection in two years, and says he plans on running barring any unforeseen circumstances making campaigning for reelection difficult. Hatch's potential reelection has been a major topic of conversation, given his 42 years in the senate and advanced age leading many to push for him to retire. There has even been speculation that prominent Utahn's such as Mitt Romney or John Huntsman Jr. 

When his current term ends in 2019, Hatch will have served 42 years in the senate.
